Custom T-shirts can turn employees, teams, event staff and customers into walking brand exposure. For full-color artwork and detailed logos, DTF printing is a flexible option for many apparel projects.
What is DTF printing?
DTF, or direct-to-film printing, transfers a full-color printed design onto apparel using heat and pressure. It works well for detailed graphics, gradients, logos and artwork that would be difficult to reproduce with simpler one-color decoration methods.
Who uses custom DTF shirts?
- Local businesses and service companies
- Events, reunions and community groups
- Sports teams and clubs
- Restaurants, shops and hospitality staff
- Brands creating short-run merchandise
How to prepare artwork
High-resolution artwork produces cleaner results. Transparent-background PNG files and vector artwork are especially useful because they help keep edges sharp and avoid unwanted background boxes around the design.
Choosing shirt colors and print placement
Consider contrast between the shirt and the artwork, along with where the design will be viewed. A large front print works well for event graphics and merchandise, while a smaller chest logo can create a cleaner business-uniform look.
